Water in Riga!!

WOW! Today we took Charles to Akvapark Waterpark just outside of Riga. It's one of Europe's biggest indoor waterparks! But we arrived a little too early so our driver took us to the beach along the Baltic Sea...which was fun to see and now I can say I've touched the water in the Baltic Sea! We got to Akvapark around 11:30am. We had such a fun day...Charles tried out 4 different slides which was far more than we expected him to. And Elisabeth and I took turns going on some of the faster slides. We spent almost 5 hours there! Afterwards we had tea at the top of the Ridzene Hotel (the sister hotel to ours) at their skybar on the 26th floor with beautiful views of Riga. After tea we finally walked around Old Town, Riga and looked in some shops and tried some treats. We went in an amazing medieval restaurant which we couldn't eat in because we didn't make "reservations" but we took pictures anyways. We got home a little later than expected but all in all it was a fun day!
And to top it all off...fireworks ended the night over the river, and since we're watching Charles in the penthouse/presidential suite we had the entire rooftop terrace of the hotel to view to fireworks while sipping the most amazing hot chocolate! The fireworks were a huge surprise, we just heard the booms bouncing off the buildings and we ran outside. Who knows what they were for...but they were amazing!!!
